Invitation to a Holiday Party with Santa & the 12 Days of Christmas Celebration
Gems Along the Mohawk will be having an 8th Annual Holiday Party with Santa on Saturday, December 11, 2010 between 1 & 3pm at 800 Mohawk Street, Herkimer, NY. This event will benefit the United Way of the Mohawk Valley and will give many children in the community an opportunity to visit with Santa.
We have many holiday plans including a gratis lunch, holiday music, crafts, face painting, pictures with Santa Claus, story telling with Gansevoort books, and demonstrations and samples by Gems associates.
The holiday gathering on December 11 is a kick-off for the United Way fundraiser. The entire month of December supports our local United Way fund in a number of ways. First a percentage of all Waterfront Grille lunch receipts during the month will be contributed toward the fund. Second, Gems will sponsor its 8th annual “Twelve Days of Christmas” whereby a number of our sales associates at Gems contribute gift baskets from December 13 – 24. To become eligible to win a daily gift basket from our specialty shops, one needs to only make a small or large donation of choosing. The following companies have donated gifts for the benefit:

Other ways to support the local United Way Chapter, is to contribute an unwrapped gift to be wrapped at the Gems location. These gifts will be delivered by Santa to the Valley United Way, along with any loose change or dollars collected. A goal of $1,000.00 has been determined. “Lets all help to make a difference in the lives of our local children by providing them with a Christmas of their own.” said Dr. Renee Scialdo Shevat, President & Owner of Gems Along the Mohawk.
